YÖDAK’s Visit to TRNC President Tufan Erhürman

The Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) paid a visit to Mr. Tufan Erhürman, the 6th President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
President Erhürman received the YÖDAK President and Council members at the Presidency on 08 December 2025 at 11:00. The meeting took place at the TRNC Presidential Complex.
During the visit, the current state of the higher education system in the TRNC, quality assurance, internationalization, student welfare, and strategic objectives for the upcoming period were discussed. The parties also exchanged views on the role of higher education in the country’s development vision.
YÖDAK President Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın emphasized that, as the YÖDAK Council, while continuing efforts to strengthen sustainable quality, transparency, alignment with international standards, and a student-centered approach in the field of higher education, they highly value institutional cooperation with the highest office of the state.
YÖDAK expressed its appreciation to President Tufan Erhürman for this important meeting. The importance of continued consultation for advancing work in the field of higher education was highlighted.
