YÖDAK – ÜAKK Meeting

The Interuniversity Academic Coordination Board (ÜAKK) meeting was held on 4 December 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Hall of the TRNC Assembly, with the broad participation of ÜAKK members.
The meeting commenced with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, President of the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK). In his remarks, the President addressed current developments in higher education, quality assurance processes, and the importance of strengthening inter-institutional coordination.
The second agenda item focused on the evaluation of doctoral equivalency applications that had been reviewed and finalized by the Commission for the Examination of Academic Titles Obtained Abroad. In line with the commission reports, the related applications were discussed by the ÜAKK members and necessary evaluations were conducted. In addition, as the term of office of the ÜAKK equivalency committee members had expired, new committee members were appointed.
Emphasizing that the ÜAKK continues to serve as an important platform for strengthening institutional cooperation in higher education, enhancing academic standards, and ensuring that equivalency procedures are carried out transparently, fairly, and in accordance with scientific criteria, President Hocanın stated that YÖDAK will resolutely continue its work in collaboration with all stakeholders in the higher education sector, without compromising on the principles of quality and academic integrity.
