PhD Publication Requirement
Requirements for the PhD title:
Being enrolled in a doctoral program.
To have taken at least 7 three-credit courses and one seminar course during the doctoral education. However, the courses taken during doctoral education must be different from the courses the student has taken before.
In order to be awarded a doctoral degree, it is necessary to have studied at least 5 semesters in a doctoral program.
The PhD title is based on the preparation of an original doctoral thesis.
To be successful in the foreign language exam organized by the candidate's own university.
Provided that it is produced from a doctoral thesis study, it has an early appearance or has been published by giving an acceptance letter or DOI number in journals within the scope of Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-Expanded) and Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI). Research articles are required. However, for the Law program that provides education in Turkish, it is required to have published at least two articles in the field related to the PhD thesis in the journals determined by the Interuniversity Academic Coordination Board (ÜAKK), taking into account similar practices in Turkey.
Doctoral thesis jury:
The thesis jury consists of three or five full members and one substitute member from the relevant field of science.
At least one of the three full members or at least two of the five full members must be from outside the university where the thesis is submitted and have the title of professor.
The thesis jury is established within the framework of the procedure specified in Article 31(4)(B) of the Higher Education Law of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
